I am trying to replace the AC light bulb over my galley. What's the trick to remove the cover without breaking anything?

They will pop out, they are held in by two springs. That's all. I have used one of those plastic wedge tools you get with decals with some success. You gotta get them started by shoving something around the edge and prying out, without damaging the vinyl. It can be hard on the hands to do it without a tool of some sort.

Once you have them out be gentle on the tiny springs that hold the reflector in place. Those little bastards tend to break pretty easily.

Thanks, I will give it a go this weekend. I'm guessing there are 2 different bulbs in the one over the galley? One for AC switch op and one for DC. They both worked last season, now just the AC lite won't turn on from the ac switch in the galley.

Hmm...how big is that fixture? I was assuming your photo showed a 3" +/- diameter fixture. If so those guys are DC only in my experience, one bulb.

I'm guessing the outer ring is about 6" diameter. But the light worked on 2 seperate switches, one AC and one DC right by the galley sink, above the power vent rocker switch.

I assume the removal process is the same as I mentioned above, though tread lightly I suppose. The units I have experience with are DC only and smaller.

This is mounted on the ceiling and the Brass colored ring looks to have 3 dimples on it. All the ceiling lights in my cabin are the same size, approx. 6 inches in diameter.

That entire fixture should turn about 1/4 turn counter clockwise then drop straight down. Turn till you feel it hit a stop. It helps to push up with the palm of your hand slightly while turning.

Thanks I will try it tomorrow!

That worker perfectly. There are 2 bulbs in this particular light over the stove. 1 small DC bulb, and 1 larger LED AC bulb. I lost the bulb on the way home last weekend. Does anyone know what wattage the AC socket takes?

Thanks

Thank you! So Searay uses 14mm base, not the standard 12?
Well see now you have me questioning it. I'll have to double-check when next I'm on the boat. I just pulled that from my purchase history and don't recall having any fitment issues.

Here is the bulb I found.

Thanks for your help, I finally found The bulb. And I tested it at home and it works here so it must be a switch or wiring issue on the boat.
