Calling all 360 DA owners

Add me to the 360 DA Sundancer list. Recently purchased this boat with a 4 axle trailer and pulled it 500 miles to my lake with semi. Upgraded from a SR 310DA 1998 still for sale. Now working on the following items:
1. Bow thruster motor bound up
2. Need entire wiper on starboard - where to purchase
3. Freezer broken - Coolmatic RPF50 - replace with what? Maybe 120v only.
4. SmartCraft broke how to upgrade to Vessel View

the freezer probably only has an inverter problem. Its possible you lost the refridgerant or the compressor but not likely. If you unscrew the trim around the freezer, you should be able to slide the freszer out. You will see a power wire going to an 6” black inverter box mounted on the bulkhead behind the freezer. The inverter is plugged into a standard 120vac outlet behind the refridgerator. The voltage supplued to the freezer is a standard 12vdc. Check it with a voltmeter. The inverter is also a switch. When you are on shore power it supplues 12vdc by inverting 120vac. When you are disconnected, the inverter also has 12vdc coming from your battery bank. Disconnecting shore power automatically switches the power. Testing voltage at the back of the freezer in both conditions should have that 12 volts. If you don’t have 12 vdc then the inverter is bad. They are typucally about $150 and take 5 minutes to swap out. The toughest part is getting back into the opening and reaching the inverter

If voltage is there, try jumpering 12vdc directly to the compressor to see if it runs. If it runs, it might be a small control board. Once again, a cheap fix. I will try and find links to the parts I used to repair my freezer

Kohler generator 7.3 KW I think, can someone tell me the filter number, NAPA if available or whatever and I will cross. Got to change oil and filter soon.

Kohler oil filter 359771, Autolite 65 spark plugs
Kohler impeller 359978, Kohler drive sleeve 359448
Kohler gas filter 267987, Kohler heat exchanger zinc 260085

Thanks for Kolher details. What is this gage for? Says System Monitor" How do I turn it off? My Smart Craft got sent in for repairs, found out motors will not start without it. Good news sold my 310 DA Saturday.

Anyone know how to replace the lights in the ceiling of the head on the 360? They seem to be glued in place. Ive replaced all other recessed lights with LED. I just can’t seem to get these off

they are very similar to the others I just pulled one last week and did LED

You are 100% correct, please tell me where to get the new power supply. Thank You very much for suggesting this fix.

I posted this over in the general maintenance section, but cross posting here since it is a 360DA issue.

2003 360 Sundancer with twin 8.1 Mercruisers. Went to run the boat today for the first time in two months (busy selling and buying a house). This was the first time we were running the boat after the marina had installed our rebuilt generator, which required removing the STBD exhaust. When I activate the start buttons for both engines, the Mercruiser engine alarm goes off constant, even though I have not started the engines. If I only energise one engine, the alarm does not go off. Even stranger, sometimes I can get both started with no alarm, but the constant alarm starts within 5 minutes. If I turn an engine off (doesn't matter which one) the alarm stops. Vessel View and gauges show oil pressure, water pressure, water temp and battery voltage normal in both engines when running. Fuel is low 24 gal STBD, 39 gal PORT, but I don't think the alarm sounds for that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Temp sensor? Just replaced in my buddy’s 8.1. Same symptoms. You will find them in the top of the manifold. Unplug one at a time to see if there is a difference to verify. Also make sure the connector for the side that they temoved the exhaust is connected.

if it is the temp sensor, removing it can be a PIA. A lot of times they get really stuck. We had to drill it out and chase it with a tap

i never received a response on this but I did figure it out. The lense covers twist off. Unfortunately someone had placed a spot of glue to hold them in place? Either way channel locks broke it loose. I was able to replace the bulbs the same as all other resessed lights in the ceiling. Diiferent socket same bulb

Thanks, I will try to take a look at it this weekend. Would that throw the alarm even before the engines are started?

It would throw the alarm immediately.

you might also see an alarm code on your merc monitor. That could be helpful in pinpointing the source of the problem

Thanks. Didn't get a chance to try this test. I don't get an alarm on the Sea Ray Systems Monitor, but that wouldn't help because the LCD display on that can't be read anyway. Vessel View performs a system scan when the ignition is activated for each engine and it is showing no faults. It is the random part that is killing me. Sometimes I get the alarm as soon as I energize the engine, other times I can start both engines and the alarm starts after a couple of minutes or I can start both engines and get no alarm letting them run for 10 minutes. As soon as I turn them off and go to turn them back on, the alarm starts again.

Check your grounds as well. Another thing to check is your main engine bus’. Round 2” plug on thetopside of the bow end of the engine. You may have a bit of corrosion started. Reseating that jack can solve a lot of intermittant problems.

Well this gets even stranger. Went to check the temperature sensors yesterday. Go down below, turn on the keys, hit the ignition breakers and the alarm goes off. Verified that the topside engine switches were in the off position. Still tested the sensors by unplugging each one and turning the keys off and on, but no joy. Just think I am going to wait for the marina to scan the engine codes to see what is up.

Kind of old school problem, I have the SR Systems monitor, 2002 model and can’t get rid of “data link failure” message .... have tried to re seat coax at both ends...anything else I should try?? Thanks

My datlink issue remains. Ive owned this boat for 5 years and it has never worked. If you figure it out I would be interested

Does anyone happen to know the height of a 360DA from the bottom of the hull to the top of the arch? I have done a search online and can't located it. The sales brochure has all the specs except this.
