Really? Its actually not a crime to not wear a life jacket on a boat. You know that, or should know that.

Here is the actual law:

Prohibition Against Careless Operation
1007 No person shall operate a vessel in a careless manner, without due care and attention or without reasonable consideration for other persons.

So its open to interpretation, but generally this is interpreted by the police and courts that actions like that boater did are considered illegal. So 100% certain that if the D-head is caught (and he will be) he will be charged. The courts may wrist slap, but he will be charged.

Another stupid post using the buzz word of virtue signaling to try to legitimize not having common courtesy. The irony of him accusing "virtue signaling" while saying they should be wearing PFD is lost on him. :rolleyes:
 
Unless the laws are different up north any damage or injury caused by the go fast boat would be his responsibility. Rock over a jon boat and drown a couple of folks you are getting charged with manslaughter and sued which insurance won't cover. By, by fast boat. By, by wife with big fake boobs. Here is a shot from Navionics with an arrow showing the Bay it happened in. It was not within the marked channel, it was in a smaller bay off the main lake.

He was just being a dick. No reason for it.

Our big boats, wake board boats, fishing boats, wave runners, paddle boarders,Kayakers , small boats... etc it is all part of the hobby we all like and we all have our reasons for enjoying it.

Some understand the rules and common courtesy and some dont.

If things bother you take the time to stop and explain it. Most just think they are doing things right until it is pointed out the better way to get along on the water.

I dont really care for all the fishing boats and where they choose to stop and do there thing. However I am not going to let it ruin my day on the water even more so the surf boats and wake board boats.

I took the time to stop and talk to a surf boat that was just way to close and doing there thing. They didnt really realized what there wake was doing to all our boats on shore and when I talked to them about it they did apologize and moved farther out in the bay.

I also was out this weekend in our little boat and came up on a boat fishing in a tight canyon. We wanted to pass by . We stoped our boat gave them time to pull in the lines and we idled by and we both waved to each other. On our way out of the canyon they flagged us down and when we went over to them they thanked us for doing so.

It isn't that hard to not be a dick.
 
I dont care what you say about fisherman this is NEVER acceptable behavior.
One look at the Assbook page lets me know all I need to know about that dude. Most likely one of those loud mouth asshole drunks out on the water I see frequently in Florida.

Hope he is delt with accordingly. No way to teach his kids respect of others. Hope they have someone in there lives to be a better expamle of how to live in society.
 
In some areas we boat there are narrow areas that are difficult to go through even at slack tide. People in small boats and sail boats go through at very slow speed and run down the centre. Once we were crossing and a Coat Guard boat announced he was entering and the size of wake. No one said a thing. But most of the small boats complain about others making wake.
 
Life’s too short. I hate it when boaters are in the middle of the intracoastal where I boat. I just slow down and give a wide birth away from them and go on my way. That was pure reckless and hope he gets caught.
 
I guess you dont carry flare guns to use for target practice on those dopes
