It's a little salty, but it will be the only one you ever need, and it'll do carpet as well. Get yourself some stainless steel snaps as well.

The snap tool is a good choice. However, rather than horsing around on Amazon, go directly to Sailrite.com. There you will find the tools, snaps of all kinds, fabric and anything associated with boat canvas.
