The 500 DA I bought has the central vac system but none of the tools or hose. So with that I had a few questions.
1. Can I test if it works at one of the plug ins? Could I just jump it there to see if the vac turns on?

2. It’s a Beam brand system. Looking for the hoses and stuff, I noticed these kits on amazon for about 100-150 depending if you need a power head. I’m questioning myself if I just go buy a Dyson V7 cordless and remove the Beam. 150 nets a dyson especially with Black Friday coming up.

on my 380, the attachments are tucked under the stairs.

Doublecheck every nook and hiding spot, i would think they are there. When i turn the breaker on for mine, it cycles sometimes.... its handy to not haul and store an entire vacuum imo

Our central vacuum vents back to the inside of the cabin, so there was a bit of heat added back into the cabin. We had to plug directly into the unit, back of the cabinet under the sink area, which was a pain. Finally, getting the thousand foot hose out of its storage compartment and maneuvering it around. With all that we opted for a cordless vac that includes a powered head for carpet. Yes, we have to store it as well, but overall easier to setup, use, clean, and store - for us.

I believe you may have an exterior exhaust, vacuum ports out in the open, and more storage options - so it might work well for you. Just sharing our experiences.

Since buying a cordless handheld we barely use our central vac anymore. It's amazing what $50-70 can get you on Amazon these days...

Yes I think we did check them all but there are a few “dead hooker” storage lockers in the floor which are pretty big. I’ll double check before going to buy anything.

we had the central vac in our 330 and loved it. I had a nice bag for tools and the hose had a nice Velcro strap to keep it cooled up. All tucked away under a seat in the salon. I think we changed bags about once a year as we were vacuuming food and bugs most of the time lol

Another central vac question. Can you replace the receptacle that the hose plugs into to make it turn on? My stopped turning on when plugged it. I need to remove the seat and turn it on manually by the switch on the back of the motor unit. PITA

All of our fittings and hose are in a compartment under the 2nd step coming into the cabin.

I love ours, I just wish it had a better carpet vacuuming attachment. I end up using the brush attachment and pulling it back towards me across the carpet which picks up a lot of stuff

It's not the receptacle. Inside the vac is a small transformer that takes power from 120VAC to 24VDC. I had to replace mine, very easy job and I found a replacement transformer on ebay for about $20.

Unit is fairly easy to remove from the boat, and a few screws hold the cover on the vac.

We have a home made power head for our central vac. A friend had a vacuum store and took a used Electrolux canister vac power head and the wand and Then added a 25’ electric cord that plugs into a 110 outlet. This provided power for the rotating brush head. The end of the boat central vac hose fits nicely into the end of the canister vac wand. This set up works great.

Yes, easily sourced and replaced... (2x)

We purchased a Dyson too, but when doing the whole boat the Beam central vac comes out.

Capt.Ronn: is your CV a Beam? Thanks for the info. on the transformer. Just what I need.

Mine sounds like the bearings are failing. It makes quite a whine when shutting down.
