Central vac question

We have the central vac and a Dyson on the boat. My wife tends to use the Dyson for the interior carpet because it has a rotating head. I use the central vac more for sucking up dead bugs on the bridge.

Get a Dyson rechargeable stick vacuum. It's quicker, easier, and does a better job. Uninstall the CV and get a lot more storage space, not only from the unit, but all the hoses & accessories. I mounted my Dyson in the back of a closet in a space that could not be used for anything else. Win-win!

In my 380 DA, the CV is mounted in the forward end of the long couch. If I mounted a second plug at the aft end, I could use this to vacuum most (if nothing all) the cockpit. Never owned a central Vac before. Is it as simple as adding a T, piping it to the other end and running a small guage pair of wires in parallel with the first port.

many ideas or suggestions are appreciated
Thank you
Chris

You can also buy a hose with a switch so the thing does not turn on right away when you plug the hose into it. I tested the one from my house as my wife complained that it was a pain on the boat becuase you had to unplug to shut off.
+1 on having a dyson on board also, easier for the quick mess.

We just got sick of dealing with the hose all together. A rechargeable handheld is 88.9% more convenient by my count :)

We lost our corgi last month so the boat is going to be a whole lot less fuzzy so our CV will probably be used a lot less and the Dyson will earn its keep...

It's a stretcth but I can get all of the cockpit with all the long attachments attached to the standard hose.

Just another question. Where are you guys getting your vacuum bags at? Can’t seem to find on amazon

Recently found a place on internet called ThinkVacuums they have bags and accessories that fit central vac systems. Very good prices, selection and pricing.
