Charging and battery use questions

Sorry for the KiJack,

GrandMaster, how the hell do you get that boat to shine like that? Is that pix Photo shopped?

Ancient Chinese secret. But no, no photoshopping

Actually, I cant take much credit for it...1st trick is that the boat has been inside rack stored since like 1999. Second is the the guy at my Marina who does the hull/cockpit detail. Last one was a year ago however so I'm overdue for another.

Thank you for noticing though...it does get alot of compliments

Ok, I have the same setup as everyone else, except Bt Doctor. My question is which battery does the GEN start off of? How does the EMERG Start switch work? I have killed battery's on both sides at different times and it always works. Is it smart, as in it looks for the best battery and connects it to the start circuit?

Not sure on the 290, but on my 340, there are 4 batteries with 2 batteries in parallel on the port side and all the house being wired to that side. On the port side, there is one battery for the engine and a few misc. house items such as the stereo, but the generator battery is completely separate and not tied to the house draw in any way. So unless your gen battery develops a bad cell, you should always have a charged gen battery.

I have a question, we just bought a used 2005 300 SD and have nothing but problems...we just had all 4 batteries cook we thought it was bad batteries and then found out we had to replace the battery charger..well now somehow something tripped the breaker and the new batteries are dead we reset the breaker the batteries are charging but the battery charger had a default message on it? Anyone have a clue on what is going on?

What type of batteries and what type is the charger set for and what was the message.

After a little research I figured out my dilemma. Just kinda figured with new batteries and all, plus my charger inop. etc. things didn't appear normal.
