Chicago,Chicago, Whata Ya Do ................

Well another shooting in New Castle, PA last night. 2 women shot. One is paralyzed. Not sure of the circumstances

Well there is a New Castle, Indiana...lol

And it is not a great place to be, you may be shot...

MM
lol. So they have something in common. I was there back in 2007. My son raced karts and Mark Dismore owns a kart track there. Raced nationals that year out there. Stayed at the track so didn't venture much as I70 is right next to the track.

I’m outside the city but have been through the south side for work.

Anybody that doesn’t think there’s a ethnic correlation to gangs, guns, prostitution and other crimes is either a political hack or an ignoramous ( my word).
The causal issues can be debated but the city has indeed the strictest gun laws in the country. Which is political junk food for progressives. Guns don’t kill people, people do.

I’m sure gang bangers aren’t walking up to the gun case at Cabellas store shopping for appropriate firearms most advantageous in capping their homies dealing drugs on the other street corner. Gun laws effect us not criminals.

Most I’ve met who scream for gun laws the loudest live in upper middle and upper class white suburbs. There are few murders in Lake Forest. It’s a different world there. I know because I’m there often on a weekly basis.

South side....not unless I’m packing.

Nah! Many parts of big cities are fantastic. Including places like NY, Chicago, DC, Baltimore.
The problems are generally focused in particular geographical areas where it seems to stem from a culture.
It usually isn’t the people from the safer neighborhoods heading over to those that are less safe to shoot the place up.
Problem is that politicians only care about votes so they’ll avoid the real issues, refuse to call the problem what it is and pander rather than problem solve.
Their unwillingness to confront the real cultural problems leave lots of good people trapped in dangerous places they can’t afford to get out of and they sometimes become innocent victims.
Rahm did it in Chicago and DeBlasio is doing it in NY.
There’s a reason why places like NY experienced dramatic drops in violent crime when a guy like Giuliani (not a fan of his) took the helm.
The best deterrent is fear of getting caught and going to jail. Most of us have a bit of law bending ability in our hearts but we generally avoid it because we don’t want to suffer the consequences if we were to get caught.
The best way to avoid a shooting is to take a shooter off the street before he does more shooting or becomes a victim of retaliation himself.
Not unique to cities either.
I lived in and policed the big city most of my life but live in the suburbs now and there are problem spots there also.
There are some rural $hitholes too.

I'm sure there are nice areas in every city. However, on a per-capita basis, cities are significantly more violent than rural areas. They just are.

Chicago upped its game this past weekend.

52 shot, 10 killed.

Yup, them damn people from Indiana and the guns they bring in.

maybe by the end of the month there wont be any more to be shot, they`ll be dead, too old or to young to do the fighting .
Just think, now the drug problem will be solved ,no more gang members

Well, that's because two weekends ago Hoosiers were too busy with the Indianapolis 500. Now they are on their regular schedule of shootings in Chicago.
