Hello gents !

Preparing my boat for a new season i would like to clean my outdrive and props where i plan to remove my props for cleaning. Is this work as straight forward as on my previous volvo sx drive or something to look for ? When reattaching the props - Do the blades of both props have to have in a specific position to each other or is this regardless ?

Thanks much !

Since they are rotating the position shouldn't matter but some line up the part numbers stamped on the props. As far as reinstall be sure to clean and grease the splines.

Thanks ! Common sense dictates that regardless how you mount both propellers the blades will meet three times a revolution , other say you should mount that if one fwd blade points up one blade of the aft prop should point down to prevent the blades meet directly below the cavitation plate.

Never thought about it previously and cannot say if this is valid or nonsense.

There are several threads on here about the positioning of the B3 props when installing. There are reports of vibration, etc when they are not properly aligned. I have always reinstalled mine using the up/down situation you describe and have never had an issue.

Agreed. Timing the props is important. Make sure they do not meet at the cavitation plate at the same time.
