Cockpit AC/Heat

I checked the strainer, water line and seacock..all good. There's a valve past the strainer that when opened it shoots out water so it's getting water. Electrical may be it but everything kicks on and seems normal except no heat or A/C.

I'm also thinking it's the pump. Are these pumps readily available at West Marine.

Pump may just be vapor locked. Try bleeding it. Happened to me 2weekend ago

Pull the output hose off the pump with the sea strainer valve open. Water will fill the pump. That will get any air out of the pump. Make sure the pump runs!! If it does, you may have a clogged line some where. Disconnect and blast it out with dock side water.

Does your cockpit air display show HI PS? If so - no water flow. As mentioned above make sure pump is running when you turn on A/C - you have to check it fairly quickly because it is designed to shut off immediately with no water flow. If pump is dead, buy one online. Much cheaper than retail stores.

My unit is after market so it’s not the standard SR unit. It doesn’t give me any codes. I can hear it click on and then start blowing but it’s just fan air.

I need to figure out how to get to the back of the unit to check pump and water flow

Are you sure the water pump is behind the unit? I would expect it to be in the bilge area near the water pickup/seacock? The pump is usually below the water line so that it stays primed.

Try the above suggestion about outlet hose if the pump is running. Happened to mine also last year. Easy fix I hope.

Make sure the AC is actually in cooling mode. Could just need to set temp to 65 for it to kick on.

Other to dos if it is turning on the compressor...

Now many AC units do you have?
Are they all fed from the same pump?
Do the other units work?
Does water flow out of other outlets?

Its likely either a bad pump, clogged line, or unit not turning on the pump.

Clogged line could be from pump to unit, inside unit, or after unit to thru hull. Gotta start checking all and eliminate.

I’ve turned it down to 60 and no cooling

I have two other units and they work really good and water flows great. Now I don’t know if the cockpit uses same pump as other two since it’s an aftermarket unit. This is why I assumed the pump for cockpit was near the unit and not in bilge. I’ll have to check on this. I’m heading down there today so I’ll check for clogged lines
