Hi,

I have an '81 Vanguard Express. The removable port and starboard engine hatches under the helm and companion seats are both a bit soft, so I'd like to repair or replace them. Are they constructed as laminated fiberglass core sandwich or just a few layers ? They don't seem to be thick enough to be the normal balsa sandwich but it's hard to tell.

Similar question about the rest of the deck in the cockpit - it seems quite thin, not really enough thickness to be cored. Most of it is fine but there's a 2' square soft section on the port side behind the console seat where the hefty PO spent 20 years jumping into the boat from his dock. The small, partial stringer beneath seems fine, just the deck surface flexes a bit. Wondering if it's dry delamination there? What'd be a good repair here? Injectadek, or brace it?

Thanks
