I have a 2005 340 Sundancer and would like to make a table/cover for the cockpit sink (to support a blender and other beverages). Any ideas or photos on how to do this would be appreciated.
Thanks

i made one out of black plexiglass....i just traced an outline of the sink on poster board and transferred that pattern to the Plexiglass by covering the plexiglass with blue painters tape.....i used a scroll saw to cut the plexiglass...i applied some self adhesive non-skid shelf liner to the bottom to help hold it in place once installed over the sink...i also cut a 1" hole in the center to stick a finger in to handle the cover....it worked well but after a while we decided to not use the cover since we were frequently using the sink especially at night for washing hands and rinsing dishes and cups and just got tired of removing and installing the cover...

I bought a large cutting board and cut it to fit.

Made a template from clear plastic sheeting first.

I am in process (for the last year ;)) of redoing this section on the boat. We are going to convert to new undermount sink with a filler plate for the counter space.

If you want to make a cover I would template the material over the hand rails and and around the faucet. You could use the boat pole rubber clips to attach the rail. You probably will need some kind of standoff at the rear to support it. The raised sink edge becomes the issue here.

Alternatively you could template inside the rail and used rubber standoff feet at points all the way around. You would still need to cut out for faucet.

I made what I think is just what you are looking for for our 2006 340. It is a table made out of Starboard and it rests (clamps) to the stainless railing and sets on the fiberglass where the drink holders are. I replaced my faucet to one that folds down into the sink to facilitate it. I thought I had a pic, but cannot find it. Will take one this evening or tomorrow and post it. Works really nice as it is portable. We use it for an electric grill, toaster over, air fryer, blender, or just a place to set up chips and dips.

Here is a pic of the cockpit sink cover I made. Clips on the stainless rail and has felt under the part that rests on the fiberglass by the drink holders. Easy on an d easy off. I store it under the mid birth bed as we keep if half way pulled out for storage underneath.

Kokie, would you by chance have the measurements for the table? My 340 is still shrink wrapped and may be for sometime yet. I would like to get a jump on the project before it gets launched.

No I do not, I kinda free handed it. I can draw it out on a sheet of paper and come up with something you should be able to go by. Will be on boat this weekend for sure. May get to it sooner depending on work schedule.

Korkie I think I saw your boat and table at Kentmorr Restaurant one afternoon when I had my 2006 340. About 6 years ago. My wife and I commented thats what we wanted too and before I could get back to you, you were gone!!!

villianstyle - You probably did see the boat at Kentmorr as that is near where we bought it from. Its name was "Fast Forward" then. Wasn't ours at that time, we have only had it 4 years and I just made the table last year.

Korkie - I’m doing the same thing - but I can’t seem to find the plastic clips like you have here. Where did you get them?

Amazon Bimini Boat Clips - Multi-Color Clips - 8 Pack - Fits 7/8" Round Tubing - White, Black, Grey & Blue (2 ea) - Towel Clips -

I put the rubber anti slide mating between the clip and the rail for a tight fit and to prevent scratching the rail

Thank you very much. I assume you drilled and countersunk flatheads inside the clip. You mention the “anti slide” . Did you buy something special here that is thin?

Yes - used flatheads and drilled straight through the top into a couple of 1/2 inch starboard as i needed to raise it up off the railing about an inch to get it level. Did same to attach the clips. The anti slide is just the stuff you get at the hardware store that people put in their drawers and toolboxes to stop things from sliding around. View attachment 131800

Quint and Mark - Can you send me a pic of your cockpit sink covers? I am wanting to put something in that is easier to take off / put on and store. Thanks, K
