Enjoying a cup of dark roast in my new mug on the bridge.

Pirate, yeah but when you're head is on the pillow at night we're still cranking down the beers.
Oh yeah, my son lives in Santa Maria. Calls at some ungodly hours when we sleeping. Love ya son, get your time zones figured out.
I get up at 6am EC time. I swear i will call him one day. Wake his ass up all cheery.

I was wondering when some one was gonna get half the point of the post;)
Not a Nutty Trumper, my buddy got a binch of us like minded conservative boaters the mugs for grins.
I use a french press on the boat and take fresh ground dark roast from the house each weekend. The rest of the week I drink K-Cup coffee at the office so I realy enjoy my coffee on the boat!

The title of your thread says it all. The best coffee I ever drink is at dawn in an anchorage with the morning mist on the water and no-one else up yet. And that cup is always instant (Starbucks) which is quiet to make. I sacrifice quality for solitude, but it still tastes great.

Have you tried cold brewing in your press?

I just bought an Ember electric mug. What a game changer. Coffee remains at a preferred temp until the last drop. It is monitored and adjusted via I phone BT app. I bought one for the shop and I will be getting one for the boat and probably one for the house. They ain't cheap but man it is nice to have coffee hot til the last drop!

I can't wait for coffee on the boat again... Only 53 more days!

That first cup of the morning at anchor is the best.

Our usual anchorage is in a shallow cove surrounded by the road that goes in and out of town.

I love to sit there on Monday morning (the only boat there) and watch folks drive to work.

I used to drive by there on week days wondering "who is that guy?" and now it's me.

I use a similar cup at the hangar, one that I got as a parting gift for sitting in on yearly hazmat training. It des keep my coffee warm for a few hours but not piping hot. I like to sip coffee until about eleven then hydrate with Gatorade Zero for the rest of the day. I know it is crazy expensive but for something I use every day for something as important and life supporting as good coffee, my Ember investment is well worth it.
