Concealed Carry, What Gun U Prefer

LEOSA is also known as HR 218

I carry a model 22 Glock 40 cal when my clothing allows it but it is OWB. When clothing is a little lighter I carry a S&W M&P Shield 9mm but considering getting something even smaller for days I'm wearing gym shorts, etc

I can’t believe some of these answers. He wants CC for himself and wife. Just asking this question disqualifies them from 1911’s.

No worries, I’m not suggesting he carry what I choose to, that’s his decision that no one can make for him. Based on the title of the thread, I was assuming he wanted to know what others are carrying for his review.

@RBB, head to a range and spend some time with the Mrs trying out what's on the rental wall.

I just recently bought a Kimber Micro9.
I really like the size for conceal carrying.

Really? Myself and some others I know have been carrying Kimber 1911s since 2001 & 2003. I didn't realize we we're doing it wrong. The Pro Covert was the gun I bought to specifically carry when I "dressed up".

I carry the shield 40, wife carries the Sig P238 and she loves it. Soooo much better than the bodyguard.

We have been going. I had bought the SW 380 Body Guard for her but its not the one. She cannot hardley rack one in the chamber. Ordered a SW 380EZ after her shooting one. She points it very well and racks it easily.

Do u guys really point those 2 1/2 barrels that well?
RBB, I have qualified many times with my S&W Model 60 with a 1.5" barrel. That was on a standard PPC short course that included shooting from 25 yards.

The secret is to make sure you squeeeeeeeze the trigger smoothly instead of jerking it.

I am really partial to my Ruger LC9S, especially for IWB. I like my Taurus G2C for OWB carry for the clip capacity, but I don't carry OWB often. The Taurus does have a quirky trigger pull but once I got used to it I liked it. I have tried various S&Ws and Glocks and I keep coming back to these 2 because I am accurate with them and they go boom every time I pull the trigger. I have not shot the Kimber.

My wife, Cub .32. It’s a small semi. It’s prefect for her palm size. Like GFC I have a SW snub nose 38sp and a .357. Colt. Daughters have Sigs 232. One is .22 other is a 9mm. Ruger has a lightweight composite .38sp it is super light. Model #Ruger LCR. I have a summer carry and a winter carry. I can’t carry a Sig C3 in the summer.

My recommendation is to find a LEO you know and ask them what their personal carry gun is. They carry everywhere and know what comfortable to them. You can’t buy a gun for your wife, she must find one that fits her. Palm size, weight, her strength in her shooting hand, and recoil all play into the choice. These things also play a part in your choice. GET trained and GET comfortable shooting these without hearing protection. Don’t just go buy a pretty gun. I have plenty of those. Find the one that that fits you and her.

A 1911, even a compact 1911 is to much for many that I know. Recoil and sound, then add in its weight.
