2006 340 8.1’s. Are the cool fuel units part of the factory recall due to the painting of the inside? 10 minutes after I signed the paperwork to buy it, I was told I needed a new one! Go figure...

Search online for mercury cool fuel service bulletin, I have tried linking to it before, but its a PDF.
It's not a recall, but if you have the bad one, they will pay for the modules and injectors, but you have to have it done by a mercury certified ship, and you pay labor.

Assuming the boat passed the survey you may not need injectors rather just replacing the modules. Do you know why you need one? Some do leak and require replacing the lower housing. But if you have the paint issue it’s worth replacing the whole unit and be done with it.

Take the boat to a certified Merc Cruiser mechanic and have him put in a claim to Merc. Merc will replace the module and injectors if paint is the issue. I had this done last season. You will have to pay labor.
