Our family is currently in the market for a cruising boat. We are moving up from an outboard center console to something with living space. We have looked at all the options out there and are fairly certain that we’ve narrowed it down to the Sea Ray 48 Sedan Bridge or 56 Sedan Bridge. They seem like the most boat for our budget. When you look at it on an even basis - accounting for updates, condition, etc - there is not a very large difference in price. We are looking for advice on engines, maintenance, speeds, livability, ease of handling, learning curve for the captain - me, but only the driving; I get outranked on everything else! LOL. Any advice from anyone who has owned or run these boats would be very helpful. Thanks!!

GMBogue, you didn't fill in your profile so we don't know where you live and where you will be boating.

If you're on the west coast I know where there is a 550 Sedan Bridge that's always been a fresh water boat, has CAT engines, is in great shape and is for sale.
