I thought it was selling advertising.... but what do I know

that was a really long post and I still didn’t get the point of it
They use the data to target the advertising. But I still don't know why I get all these ads for Russian Brides. :)

This sounds familiar.

Ya, I remember when you said this to your CSR buds....

Now, like then, you had to drag racism in. Now, like then, when someone questions your extreme comment you turn puss and blame it on drinking/posting. The last time you came up with some Zen stuff about how you should have thought beautiful happy thoughts for a day before posting.

You supported the violence of this previous summer. Real riots, even in your own city, looted and burnt. This is what you said about CHAZ.....

You are a forum Drama Queen for sure, but worse is that you're a hypocrite. You condoned the rioting and violence of past months, the so called peaceful protests....you are as responsible for what happened 1/6/21 as anyone else.

Wow, I'm blown away by your quick wit, your ability to search threads for previous quotes and twist them to fit your narrative... I guess this drama queen will just be silent, hahahaha
Jan. 20, 2021 can't come fast enough...

Yes, more "votes were counted for Biden" this is the point of dispute were they proper votes that were properly counted.
345M US citizens,
239M Eligible to vote
160M Actually voted (a not typical 68% they say)
81.2M Biden
74.2M Trump
79 MILLION DID NOT VOTE, there's the problems, we had a "good" turnout yet really a third of the voters didn't.

And the other really sad thing in this country right now is we are split equally on almost every issue.
Take any survey on any particular question in the last 10 years and the numbers will be approximately this:
45% yes
45% no
10% undecided
or 40-20-40 but you get the point, there is no clear "majority" on any issue.

And this is not some monolithic group of people. It's overly simplistic to interpret these numbers as 45% are Democrats and 45% are Republican. It really is more like 25% are hard core Liberals (and likely are Democrats) and 25% are hard core conservatives (and likely are Republican) and the other 50% are moderate in the middle a little liberal a little conservative.

So how is it that it's ok to silence ether side of those numbers?
There are all Americans, and right now Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, the MSM and Democrat Party want to expel 45% of the US citizens?

And finally as a Canadian, please take care of your problems before you try to take care of ours.

I guess no one really knows how the non-voters theoretically would have voted or where they line up politically. I am one that thinks that if someone does not care enough about their country to do something as simple as vote every couple of years, then it doesn't matter what they think. And your whole constitutional process for determining who is appointed to government is founded on the winner being the one with the most votes. Not what hypothetically might have happened.

Its interesting that Australia has "mandatory voting" and turnout near 100%. I guess that is very un-American, but it does very clearly define what the true majority want their government to do. But forcing the politically apathetic to vote does not give a better outcome, and could very likely support uninformed voters being more influential in elections. And that is not good.

As for your last post, one of the fundamental principles of the 1st amendment (and equivalents around the free world) is that someone is free to voice their view. So unless the owners of CSR ban non-Americans (which they are in their right to do BTW), you will get the views of Canadians and others on these topics.

Thankfully the founders where weary of the average citizen and pure democracy. They put all types of roadblocks in the way of pure majority mob rule.

So you are saying by design they wanted to restrict the ability to vote to only certain people? Say it isn't so....

For those of you that were on Parler before it was shut down. The FBI is now saying that there was a lot of threats of violence and attacks on politicians, including the DC fiasco on that site. Is that the case? Was there open threats and discussions of violent action against the government or other Americans?

None that I saw

By design, they didn't want any "people" voting for President. You could vote for your Rep every two years. They get thrown into a big pool so the nuts and kooks wouldn't have any effect. The senate the same, but to a lessor effect.

Like making possible a Republican majority Senate that represents a minority 15 million fewer US citizens than the Democratic Senate minority? Case in point North and South Dakota with a combined population of 1.5 million: 4 Senators. California and their 39 million people: 2 Senators. So much for representative government.

There was ..and you can check out https://thedonald.win if you want to have a look at what's still being said. The thread about "a man vs a child pedophile" is a real gem. https://thedonald.win/p/11S0gQ5rPM/a-man-vs-a-child-pedophile/c/

Read the filing from Amazon here: https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.wawd.294664/gov.uscourts.wawd.294664.10.0_1.pdf
Includes examples of posts with threats Amazon asked Parler to cure. The threats are graphic, violent, racist and treasonous and directed against both Democratic and Republican politicians, police officers, MLB, NBA, even teachers.

I think you’re both right. If the definition of “user data” is extended to include what the individual likes (mined from what he looks at, or clicks on links to an advertisement) then that’s definitely advertising.

I knew a number of guys who during the internet bubble who worked for next to nothing with the promise of equity when the company went public. Most got nothing out of it, with one exception. A classmate from grad school started a software company that made utilities for Ethernet lans. He ended up selling it to Microsoft. He also retired before he was fifty and last time I saw him he was headed south in brand new live aboard size Hinckley sailboat. So CEO financial rewards are definitely a big motivator.

I actually think that LEO's probably want it set back up to make it easier to track down radicals that become criminals. Groups like the Proud Boys or Boogaloo feel "safe" when they are surrounded by virtual supporters so the self-supported one-sided spin ramps up, and that helps LEO's track down who was part of things like the DC capital protest/riot/invasion. But the real hard core criminal organizations only use social media to recruit like-minded radicals. The real bad stuff is done through private sites.

Video that makes the same point as you. No idea if it's true but it sure is funny:

Yep, exactly like that. And thank god these guys knew what they where doing. Otherwise, why woiuld states like North and South Dakota stick around in the union only to be told what to do by the clowns in CA.

Maybe they should have restrictions on who can vote? If you have no stake in the game then why should you be permitted to vote? Meaning you contribute nothing to society or taxes? Retired and those on disability collecting SS would be exceptions.

And starting to wonder how many in prisons voted? I mean they collected the big unemployment bonuses

Yes much better for the minority to force their Supreme Court justices on the majority. Everyone should be very happy.

Anyone with a cell phone iPad or a computer at some point has allowed access to the microphone and cameras through an app or something , forget social media or any of the websites your frequent, if you have a cell phone they have access to everything and anything you say. I guarantee it was being recorded or listened in on . you’re still going to get advertisements for things that you might have said in passing. I have seen it happen myself I’ve had conversations in my own home or even out of my home about a product and low and behold without even searching for it advertisements pop-up of those products coincidence ?...don’t think so we’re all screwed
