I am a new member and searched several places here but was unsuccessful in finding any help. I own a 2002 320 Sundancer. It's new to me. The depth sounder has just quit working. It is operated by the acc1 button on the right side of the instrument cluster. The LED still lights, but the depth sounder doesn't come up as before.

I inspected the panel under the helm and saw where there is a place for depth sounder power take off, but the depth sounder isn't powered from there. I inspected the back of the unit and see a 'SEATALK' cable plugged in and I assume that powers the unit. My other Raymarine units power up. It appears the seatalk cable is actually a pair of wires and it goes up over the bulkhead and following with my hand it seems like it connects to a wiring harness?

Any thoughts on where this unit is fused based on others experience?

Thanks in Advance!

Just be aware that transducers are water cooled and will overheat and burn out if left powered on when out of the water. If you want to power up your system out of the water disconnect the transducer cable first.

Thanks. Turns out this is a week long false alarm. I went to the boat to look one last time, found nothing wrong, decided to take the boat out for a quick spin and then the unit powered on and is working as before? Possibly an impending failure?

Thanks,

If you have a p79 transducer it sits in a well that gets filled with fluid like antifreeze or sometimes water. If it’s dries out the signal can’t get through the hull and it will look like it’s not working. Refill the well and it should work.
