Im planning to descale my raw water side, and I wanted some feedback on my plan before continuing. Researching I couldn’t find a flow schematic, but reading previous posts and following the pipes on the boat, looks pretty simple.
Here’s my setup...
Seacock->2” pipe->Strainer->Fuel Cooler->Raw Water Pump->Heat Excahnger->Transmission Cooler->overboard exhaust
My plan is this...
1. Use utility pump connected to the 2” pipe from the sea cock, and have the return come off of the pipe/hose that connects up to the exhaust elbow (disconnected from the elbow).
2. Remove water pump impeller, (replace with new when complete).
3. Plug 3/8” hose to the drip less shaft seal.
Is there anything more more to this mechanically? Don’t want to pump Barnicle Buster someplace it shouldn’t go.
