(DIY?) Cockpit heater

Looking to add a small electric heating unit to my 2007 260DA. Maybe 1kW to 1.5kW at most. I’m considering repurposing a small bathroom fan heating unit, but definitely interested in seeing other ideas.

Ideally I’d like one supply under the windshield for a defroster and another down by floor blowing towards the chaise for mrs’ feet.

Not really interested in the hot water route but I’d definitely be willing to entertain a compact enough system. Electric would work at the dock and underway off the genset.

I have the smaller version of this and when I have the camper canvas zipped up, it keeps my entire cockpit warm.

I had considered one of those , but between the big fluffy dog and tip over hazard, I’m leaning more towards something installed.

It automatically shuts off when tipped over. It does work. ask me how I know.

I went with the keep it simple solution... we only need a heater 4 or 5 times a year and this little thing is more than enough and easily stored.
