I think it is good that the original "justifications" for disrespecting the American Flag have been swept away by the American people.

I don't think the American people can relate to players, owners and the commissioner who make upwards of $50m per year and claim they have a right to protest during the National Anthem.

Offending the people who pay to watch the game will only end up less viewers and galactic loss of revenue. Eventually, that means smaller salary caps and smaller player contracts. You reap what you sow........

I am sick and tired of these spoiled brats acting like they do while at work. I didn’t want to see them protest, they are there to entertain me. Same with actors that believe anyone cares what they have to say. Entertain me and shut up otherwise!

Time to bring back the XFL. Let those that want to play football stay in the NFL. Let those who want it to be the 'Look at Me!' show join the XFL.

Nope - stopped watching. Went to the Vikings season opener, before the shenanigans, & watched one game that was on in a bar at a conference....other than that I'll catch it on the morning/evening local news.

I watch the about the same. I have had Panthers PSLs since 1995 and go to almost every home game. Great game last night on MNF!

Few seem to agree with you. This just in, ProFootballTalk reports: "ESPN acquired Monday Night Football in 2006. And of all the games televised by ESPN since then, Monday night’s game between the Dolphins and Panthers generated the fourth lowest rating."

After the Saints dropped their first 2 games I thought this was gonna be easy. They have since mounted a 7 game winning streak and I have not watched a single play. I will admit I miss the weekends in the French Quarter capped by a great game in the midst of bunch of boisterous coon-asses. But some things are more important - at least to some of us.

Stopped watching. Occasionally listen online to my dumpster fire Colts, but that is about it.

We were Texans addicts until they all took a knee a few weeks ago. Have turned down private suite tickets since then. Done with the NFL.

I regularly watched 5 games a week before all of this started.
Now, as a Giant fan, I only watch Giant games.
I generally try to buy tickets on the secondary market for a divisional game or two a year. But have not done so this year, and will not do so.
I won’t buy any NFL merchandise either.
As a veteran and retired LE I completely boycotted all games on Veteran’s day weekend.

Thank you for your service to the country!

48 hours in and the NFL is losing. A mind boggling 80% watch way less or none at all. Only 15% watch about the same or more than in the past. I really did not expect this level of decrease.

My basement was painted Colts blue. Over the past three to four years I've become severely disillusioned with the NFL. The past two years sealed the deal. I'm done watching. Same thing happened many years ago with the NBA. I had many different season tickets for the Pacers that we used to give to customers. I noticed that no one was going, the team "shot" better on the streets than on the court and I quit the tickets. I don't watch any sports anymore. I really wish I could watch hockey but I'm sure if I did, they'd eventually get to the same point.

When this sentiment comes up I'm reminded of how actors/actresses/performers used to be looked at. The movie Tombstone always comes to mind.

I was a long time Cowboy fan from the old days-Don Meredith, Roger Staubach, Danny White, and Troy Aikman. Mid to late 90s, the NFL turned into being all about money. i slowly gave it up. Around 2000, I took a liking to the Georgia Bull Dawgs and have been a college football junkie since. I am the College Game Day at 9am-midnight guy. Have been in almost every SEC stadium and live in Athens, GA. I used to turn on the NFL on Sundays, but can honestly say, I have not watched 5 mins this year.

I wish it were the case but to be fair, the audience of this poll is hardly an accurate reflection of the NFL's overall demographic. The majority on this site tend to lean conservative and have a higher appreciation and deeper respect for this Country and the foundations it was created on. Conversely, there are plenty of America-hating leftists who simply view this as an opportunity to pick up a cheaper stadium seat and/or spite Trump. Then there are those who fall somewhere in the middle and will choose to ignore the theatrics and keep doing what they enjoy doing. Point being that while the numbers may be slightly down, it doesn't seem to be enough to have a positive impact.

Jerry Jones seems to be the only Owner with the stones to address the issue and they're calling for his head.

One could make the argument that boaters come from a cross section of the voting and consumer population in the country.
