Dock Ramp Ediquitte

Our 6 lane ramp is currently inundated due to high water. Now, only 1 ramp left. Last week the guy that came in front of me backed so far in that his truck tailpipe was literally a foot under water. Connected the winch and drove out - boat crooked. Backed in again and did over - boat crooked. I talked to him after the first time, and after the 7th time I had a real good talk. He agreed to leave it crooked and let me in. Our Searay was on the trailer and parked after about 3 minutes.

Before he tried again I explained how to retrieve a boat. I showed him where to back in and then winch it up. I also explained that i have been using that very ramp for 52 years and I never saw anybody have that much trouble.

As we were driving out of the lot I looked back and his rear bumper was now under water.

As they say...you can lead a horse....yada, yada. I guess he didn't believe me.

Or better yet, the next time you see him do it, call whatever agency is in charge of the ramp and explain the situation and the frequency of it happening and let them take care of it.

I'm assuming Espos4 is joking, but keep in mind that EVERYBODY has a cell phone camera attached firmly to their hand and if step outa line you will be in social media in minutes and in jail in a day or two.

Yes, just joking. And I am aware that you are on camera pretty much wherever you go!

Ask a man for help, and you have a friend for life. Offer a man help and he will hate you forever.

Sometimes I go out solo. What is it with people grabbing my dock lines and insisting they help when I come in to pull my boat out? I have to say over and over again, "I'm good!"

It drives me nuts. Keep your hands and your feet off of my shi+

I don't know? If I'm free I always ask if they would like my help with a line....but that's just me. Sounds like you have it all figured out tho....

Guy thought this was the way to go instead of backing in.

And no one parked 4" in front of him and another 4" behind him. That would have happened down here.

Don't stand for that chit down here.

I have never owned a trailer boat or will I. Id rather do without.
I refuse to associate with the unwashed masses at ramps.
Basically the homeless encampments of boaters.
