Is there a replacement part for the quick connect for the dock water feed. Aside from searay brand? The female end for the hose side

I cut my dock water hose and put a quick disconnect from HD in the hose just outside of my transom locker. Not sure about a SR brand one.

Thanks for the reply's. so Alnav is there a qucick connect that goes on that fitting? instead of screwing in a hose end?
and bbwhitejr, is your quick connect brass or metal or plastic?
I've seen some quick connects for power washers that look like the part, but I haven't researched the dimensions.
I was thinking of splitting the water at the spigot, one for full hose and one short run to the boat fresh water supply.
I connected it yesterday, but didnt read the manual, It said make sure your water system breaker is off. :(

No, not a quick connect, but the black ring does make it easier to screw on a hose than the OEM version. I used to use quick connect fittings from home improvement stores and that worked well. But, my stern gets pretty wet while underway and I decided I should use the fitting cover, that made it not worth it to install and remove the quick connect on a regular basis.

I split the water at the post so I have a dock hose and shore side water for the boat. I also use a brass quick disconnect on the water inlet. Unscrewing the hose is a PITA every time you want to move.

I installed the same dock water inlet as alnav. Then I ran my hose from the dock water spigot into my transom locker and screwed it into the dock water inlet. Then cut the hose just outside for the transom locker and installed a brass quick disconnect. Screwing the hose in and out of the dock water inlet is a pain compared to unsnapping the disconnect. You can see it in this pic:

I have something similar to Bennett’s set up, just inside the locker. And there’s that short piece of hose I use to fill the tank with that we were posting about last week.

Ahhh, I like it. Just tuck the short hose in when you leaving port. Where did you get the brass quick connect? Amazon I suppose

I have a 2008 350 DA. I have no operators manual and there are no Sea Ray's by me to ask the owners questions as to how to use the connections in the transom. I do have a number of questions. My transom door area:
upload_2020-7-12_17-13-43.png

I thought the female inlet on the right side of my pic (similar to you pic) was the fill inlet from city water. I assumed the chromed spigot is used for a fresh water outlet source.

Of course when I hooked the female inlet to city water nothing filled and my sinks did not flow water when opened. I tried the sinks turning off the fresh water pump thinking that the city water went directly to the sinks, shower, and ice maker. Is there a valve or switch to choose the tank or the city supply for water? On other boats there is a switch to change from city water to the tank. This must open and close solenoid valves?

If I understand your post you fill your tank through the spigot by running a line to the city water supply? What is the blue filter in your picture and is there a hose hooked up to it? Do you use this to fill your tank manually? My manual fill inlet is on the port side of my boat. Is this where you would run the hose to for a manual fill?

Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

Confused,

Chris

Chris, hopefully a 350 Dancer owner will chime in but I will give it a try.
Owner's manuals are available here: https://www.searay.com/us/en/owners.html. I don't see a 350 Dancer for your year but there are three 340 SDs, I would guess one of those is probably yours. Around that time, Sea Ray played some games with the designations, mostly for marketing purposes. Calling a previous 340 a 350 would not have been out of character.
You should download the parts manual as well. There is a 350 SD. It's invaluable for system diagrams as well as part numbers.

You are correct that the female fitting is for city water. It should have operated as you expected and provided water to all sinks, shower, etc. I don't have a valve and have never heard of one being installed. There is supposed to be a check valve, probably near your water tank or on-board pump to prevent mixing. You are supposed to keep the on-board pump off while using city water. So, the line from the city inlet may be broken or obstructed. Using the parts manual diagram, you should be able to trace. If you can get to the area right behind the inlet, I would start there. The line on my boat was broken when I got it, which I discovered the hard way by getting water in the aft stateroom. There also may be a water system manifold you should locate, valves closed on that could be the problem as well.

Filling the onboard tank is through the manual inlet you described. The filter you noticed was added by the poster. Lots of people install those in either or both of the lines for city water and for manually filling the tank. They are readily available at stores like Walmart in the RV section. Amazon as well. It's a good idea to get drinking-water rated hoses for both manual fill and if you successfully get your city water working. These are also available at the same places as filters.

Hope this helps.

I thought the female inlet on the right side of my pic (similar to you pic) was the fill inlet from city water. Yes, though it doesn’t fill the tank, it hooks the city water to the boat’s water system. What you are actually looking at is a pressure reducer, it protects your boats system from high city water pressure. Just past that female hose connection is a check valve that prevents water from flowing back through it when not hooked to city water and is running off your freshwater pumps using water from your tank. That check valve may be stuck preventing water flow into the inlet. I assumed the chromed spigot is used for a fresh water outlet source. Correct

Of course when I hooked the female inlet to city water nothing filled and my sinks did not flow water when opened. I tried the sinks turning off the fresh water pump thinking that the city water went directly to the sinks, shower, and ice maker. Yes. Is there a valve or switch to choose the tank or the city supply for water? Not on any sea ray I ever owned. On other boats there is a switch to change from city water to the tank. This must open and close solenoid valves?

If I understand your post you fill your tank through the spigot by running a line to the city water supply? Yes, water from dock to inlet on the right, then short hose from fresh water spigot on the left to the deck fill for the tank. What is the blue filter in your picture and is there a hose hooked up to it? RV filter as alnav said. Do you use this to fill your tank manually? My manual fill inlet is on the port side of my boat. Is this where you would run the hose to for a manual fill? Yes

Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

Thank you very much! I appreciate your help. I ordered a new hose regulator inlet this morning. Hopefully this will fix my issue.

I use a brass quick disconnect for mine due to the ridiculously low placement of the inlet. Worked great until I swiped the male end of it into the drink the other day while using the hose to wash the boat. Another good reason to have a splitter at the city water side. I have a water softener on one of two spigots at my dock box and like to use the soft water to wash down the boat so I use the same hose. There went another $7.50 but its worth it in ease of hook up.
Carpe Diem

Chris, like you've seen above, there is likely a pressure regulator behind that hose fitting.
