Lake Travis TX
Looking to secure some boat space along the TX coast. I'll hopefully exit the corporate ratrace soon to work as a consultant and will be able to work as much as I like and wherever I want. So, the plan is to keep a boat down on the coast. We live in Austin and will keep the 320 here, but I'd love a sport fish down on the big water once I have the time to spend a week or two per month down there.

Anyone know of any dockominiums in TX? Or is that pretty much a Florida phenomenon? I like the idea of securing slip space as property instead of renting for eternity.

I found one spot near Galveston bay but I'd like to compare, hopefully find something between Corpus and S. Padre where the water is a bit nicer.

Thanks

The only one I know in the Clear Lake area is Portofino Harbour link: http://www.portofinoharbour.com/

In the Clear Lake area there are plenty of 30 and 35 foot slips (40's are scarce relative to demand) available for monthly rental as well as dry storage facilities. As a result, nobody I know keeps a long-term lease. Popular marinas for rental here are South Shore Harbour, Watergate and Waterford. There are others. I keep mine in South Shore Harbour - nice place and very reasonable.
