Second owner of this 2005 390; Looking at upgrading navigation electronics which are original items. Strongly considering ditching the Smartcraft unit for various reasons. I like the info it provides, but it is not consistent; don't feel it is totally reliable, especially given other options on market. The Raymarine C120 is not bad, but is vintage compared to today's options.......which are many. All input appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

I just replaced my Raymarine C80 with a Raymarine e97. The MFD replacement was an easy swap, the radar was a little more difficult because I had to snake wires.

I love the e97, it's a great unit. Unfortunately, you just missed out on Raymarine's rebate program which just ended on 5/31.

You'll find that people either like Garmin or Raymarine based on what they have experience with. They're pretty much the same. The both offer charting, radar, and sonar capabilities it's primarily just the interface that's different. Go to West Marine (or somewhere) and play with both units side by side, then make your decision.

Defender usually has some good prices.

Thanks for the information. Are you aware of what product can replace the Smartcraft unit?
