If you were replacing the manifolds, risers and elbows which haven't been changed in 16 years, would you also replace the exhaust flappers seeing as they are that age as well? The boat was in salt for her first 7 years and the last 8 she has been in fresh water. If so, I see a few available on Amazon which are aftermarket and significantly less than Mercruiser/Quicksilver - would you order aftermarket/probably Chinese?

I'm trying to order up everything I can think of right now, so when it's apart I can replace things systematically and not have to wait for parts to show up.

Ollie, yes. I just did mans, risers, rubber, and the mechanic replaced the flappers while he was right there. And spark plugs. Easy get to with manifolds off.

Nope - bought’em - just have a pile of new parts to install once the building opens up. Hoping to start next weekend.
