Is anyone going to Fairlee creek for the 4th of July weekend?

I am planning on going up there on Friday and staying through the 4th. Going to be out on anchor weather permitting. Stop on by if your up to it.

Reel Nauti - I'll be the one with a white lab in the water and floating around with an orange crush!

Enjoy, we will at Tolchester. Sons of Pirates playing on the 4th, place will be mobbed. I may have to reserve an overnight slip even though we only day tripping. Memorial Day we got the last transient slip at 9am.

We're headed back on Monday, might stop in and check it out. Won't be 9Am though, grab a slip if needed. SOP are pretty good I enjoyed seeing them.

Man, wish I was still there! We are going to DC/Old Town Alexandria for that weekend by boat of course.

I am getting so bummed, the weather is starting to look like crap for Sat and Sun. Accu-Weather is calling for almost an inch of rain Sat and Sun. ...

Sunday does not look that bad now, just a stray shower and low winds. We will be down on the boat Sunday-Monday for the first sleep over of the season!

Well. We were concerned about getting a day slip at Shanty Bar on Monday. Sons of Pirates playing, place will be mobbed. So we reserved an overnight slip to guarantee a slip. The party is on!!

Weird day, storms gone. Normally by now pier be full with boats rafted off each other. Today at Sunset Cove it’s real quiet. Strange.

Took a female friend who we hadn’t seen in a long time out with us. The wife and I take our boat handling duties seriously especially when docking. I don’t even look back when backing into slip, she calls out all commands regarding direction, throttle. It’s a beautiful thing to see.
Well our guest wouldn’t STFU all day, especially when docking. I ignored her to no avail. Yak Yak Yak. Oh My God.
Be the LAST time we are taking guests out.

Sunday to Monday was great weather. We anchored off the airport for a while and then went over to Riverwatch for dinner/drinks/band.

was this Sunday? We should have stopped in on our way out to anchor out off the runway.
Yes, Sunday. Sunset Cove, unusually quite. We joked that all the center consoles that come there and fill the pier all sunk in the storm on Friday night fireworks.
Monday was Tolchester. That place was crazy. Bar opens at noon, by 1, I was standing in a beer line for 20 mins. Got 2 buckets to last us. By time those ran out it was near 3 and I swear the beer line was a 1/2 hour wait. We decided to leave rather than wait in the lines.

I cruised by ~1100 on Monday, saw how packed it was (Boats) and called for a slip and no go. I should have reserved on Friday on my way up.

So @Pirate Lady how was the band? Any pic's? I saw them at the Jetty a few years ago before COVID, and they were great!

Great time at Shanty, cost $88 for the slip, which frankly was a deal because most require a 2 or 3 night minimum on holidays.
That said, place was mobbed. After the first couple beers, I stood in line for 15 mins and got 2 buckets of beer. By time they were empty it was about 3pm. The line at bar was guessing 20 to 30 mins. Crazy. Decided we had enough to drink so we left. Really good time.
Going back Sunday. Phil Dutton band, plays New Orleans style music. 81 and sunny.

LOL. No, no, no. The right guests make the trip more enjoyable. You just took the wrong one that day. Don’t throw out the bushel on account of one bad apple! (Damn, I sounded country there, didn’t I?). But yeah, that should be the last time you take THAT guest out!

Regarding the lines for drinks at the Shanty. They REALLY need a beer tub girl. All the beach bunnies want frozen drinks which take forever to make and the people that just want a bucket of beers have to stand in line while some Botox lips bunny is deciding whether to get Tito’s or Petron in her drink.
But, everyone who goes there knows the layout.
I will try to get a picture of the line tomorrow.

We got up your way on the 3rd - anchoring in Sue Creek. Wow does it get shallow there! Lol. We had a blast. Then on the Fourth we went to the horse farm at Gibson Island. My fav spot. Crowded but not overly so. We left the Magothy long before that horrible accident occurred.

Everything is shallow up here. Stainless prop is a must or you’ll spend a lot repairing aluminum all summer.
We passed on crossing to Shanty Bar, tired, we got to Frog Mortar, we made a hard left to Sunset Cove.
