Hi Folks,
I'd like to modify the rear layout of my 1990 310 Sundancer. It's always a circus when we want to have people over for diner with our current configuration (Photo 1, my boat). What I would like to do, is loose the storage holes and replace them with a folding seat configuration (Photo 2, not my boat, found this on the internet).

If anyone has this configuration, it would be great to have picture of the underside (the folding mechanism), or if someone is aware of a retrofit, that would be better.

Thanks,

Richard

My boat has that type of set up (03 260da) and you can download the parts list on the searay site and go from there. Just an Idea and yes the way you think it works is how it does. I actually remove mine when I go fishing to keep it from getting ruined. Some thing else I discovered on my boat is that rear section of the boat is easy to remove for engine access and may be the same for yours to make it easy to work on.

Two sets of piano hinges are used to let the seat swing out and let the back swing up allowing the seat to swing out. Then there are some legs on nylon brackets available from McMaster Carr. These snap in the up or down position.

Mine happens to be out from a fishing trip a couple of weeks ago, here are some pics, you can see the double hinge.

Hope this helps or you want more pics. I did see some of the hardware on ebay today.

Thank you all for the quick response and pictures. It looks like I have just found my project for the winter!!!

LorenBennett: Thanks for the pics, if I can ask one more thing (really not a rush and I know I'm pushing it (;>), when you have a chance and are near the bench, could you please take the following measurement so I can fabricate to the original specs:
