People have been asking for this for years. Canned response: "do a search on boat model". The searches don't yield very good information because most don't identify in the topic their model # or year. The "Official this and that" are a mess of models and years. Can't we just do this?
Who wants to pay for it. Sorry, could not help myself. We have the best way to search the forum is via google adding www.clubsearay.com to your search. Hope it helps.

How do you separate issues which are specific to the model and year versus those issues which apply across several models and years? For example - problems with a leak - might be model specific or might apply to several models.

For a compiled list like that to be of much value, the answers would need to be vetted for accuracy and their being relative to the model in question. This is an open forum, so we dont have that type of vetting or any way to achieve it. For example, recently we had a post with some questions about a 1980-ish pre-Brunswick model. One concern was how dry the bilge was. Someone, I am sure with all the best intentions, advised the owner to address water in his bilge and went to some length to explain how a leaking packing gland would sling salt water all over the underside of his engine and would soon cause the oil pan to rust thru. All good thoughts, except the boat was on an inland lake (so salt water) and the transmissions were inboards, not v-drives and that placed the packing gland about 3-1/2' behind the rear of the transmission, nowhere near the oil pan. So, what good would it do to look up the year and model if some of the information is just plain wrong? Instead, rather than relying on old posts that may not be correct and may not even be on point, I think you get more current answers from a wider variety of members if you just post your question and spend the time to concisely describe your concern in the topic heading. For example, "Leaks in RSL" won't catch my attention nearly as well as "'96 400DA; help stop leaks at the rear of the rear storage locker" then explain that water is coming in under the rear edge of the "transom trunk" or lazzarette on your boat. If you don't catch the experienced CSR members attention, they will move on to other tpoics and you may miss some valuable info. Honestly, I don't spend a lot of time on the "Official XXXxx threads because they are generally inhabited by people who have some general knowledge but not a lot of model specific information to share and don't even own the model in question. YOu might be better off using the PM system to ask questions to specific owners who do have the model/year boat you are. You will find the most of us who are long term owners are more than willing to help a fellow owners who have t heir same model or year. The other thing to keep in mind in making requests like this for added features and services is that this site is funded solely by volunteer donations. There is no income stream to pay for the requested changes and there is no IT department or staffing to do the programming.

A well written post title will attract attention of the people you want it to. "Need some info" is a useless post title. "Need info on hot water heater in a 1999 400DA" will get all the 400DA people to click. Those people may be able to direct you to some prior posts that address the issue, or maybe a to a post that he/she authored. I would never answer a question with "do a search." That's really no help at all. If the reader is not willing to help, I would suggest that reader not post a reply.
This post should be its own thread and made a sticky. I do wish all these were named in a format as it would be easier to find them. Good work Jim. MM
To me the biggest value is when evaluating models, you can really get an idea what issues owners have dealt with over a good number of years and posts. MM
