Fuel pick - up screen ??

Is there a fuel screen / sock in the fuel tank pickup tube ? having odd issues with fuel system on my 185 Sport 4.3l

May or may not be, you need to put the pickup tube or remove the sender to verify. Some pickups are just an open tube that sticks into the takn to about 2" from bottom. Others (like my I85) are a flexible tube that lays on the bottom of the tank and has a screen over the end. What kind of problems are you having? All of your fuel line connections need to be tight and air tight, if not it will suck air a lot like trying to drink through a straw with a hole in it.

Thank you.... The boat has 230 hours and is a 2007 model and I think sat for a while before we picked it up. Anyhow after several issues finally had it running like a dream. I came across the lake at about 5000 rpm and throttled down and it stalled, fired right back up and idled fine. However any attempt to throttle up and it died. After opening the fuel line it flowed okay and I could see fuel in the tank We were able to milk it over for some fuel. After putting in 15 gallons ( did not auto shutoff at pump ) it stumbled once more and then throttled up back to the dock , Okay. Needless to say I lost what confidence I had in the boat. My passengers think it ran out of fuel however I've run below the level at which this took place. It showed a 1/4 tank on the gauge
