Hi guys looking at this RIB, viewed at the Toronto boat show the Capt loved it and we are very interested in finding anyone that has one or knows anything about them.

I believe they are made by Grand,

Would also be using a Tohatsu 20HP fuel injected with tilt, or very similar Suzuki.

    Thanks guys in advance
    Jamie

    Jamie,
I have been looking at this same RIB on-line. I am very curious as to what any other members think about them. As I understand it, the aluminum hull is what creates the weight savings instead of a traditional fiberglass rib hull.

I looked at this at the Chicago boat show. It is a very nice looking RIB and seemed to be a responsible price point.

    Couple questions,
We were told that under 400 lbs would ok for platform on a 99 380 Dancer would anyone care to chime in. Boat is 231lbs and Tohatsu 20HP is 136 lbs.

Also looking at the Hurley H20 Davits with block and tackle to retrieve does this seem like to much weight are last dinghy was soft bottom with a 9.9 close to 200 lbs and very easy to lift.

Finally pick this up, Was a great weekend to try it out. Have to say impressed so far handles great, Light enough for three to carry with the 20HP, Runs out fast will have to check GPS on phone this weekend see speeds.

Super happy with the Gala and its made by Grand, Gala will be the Aluminum side of Grand Boats

    Hi Jamie,
I was looking at that same one. Locally there’s a place that sells the Highfield RIB’s. Probably will end up with the Highfield 340 that has the aluminum hull. I’m really curious about if you got a davit and if you went with the H20 by Hurley you mentioned. I was thinking the same thing but was wondering about the ease. I know there’s the H30 for the heavier RIB’s. But would really prefer the H20 type. All that said have you narrowed it down what you will be using?

    Thanks....Brad

We are most likely going with the H20 from Hurley, haven't been in contact with them yet we are curious what length of offset we should go with, the platform on the 380 is fairly high

The H2O will be a nightmare if your platform is more than a few inches off the water with a dinghy that heavy. My 44DA platform is about 20" over water, and we barely got a 200lb all up dinghy/6hp engine on using the H2O. The H3O is 100 times easier.

I suggest you take pictures and measurements of both the platform and dinghy and send them to Hurley. Todd should respond quickly, and listen very carefully to his advice. He warned us the H2O would be tough, if we had listened, we would have saved the expense, time and struggle of installing the H2O then replacing it with the H3O .

I would say that we would be over the 20" height from the water, the wife is still at the boat i will get her to measure.

We will send off an email to Hurley, Still waiting to hear back from Sea Ray if the Dinghy weight is ok for transom and platform. It weighs in at 360lbs with fuel.

    Thanks Jamie

This has made a good impression at the marina, 3 other boaters have purchased the same tender now.
