The wife & I are here till the 12th and I’m always looking at boats wherever I travel when possible. Obviously this is one great boating area and if there’s anyone out there willing to show me around a little I’d greatly appreciate it. No such thing as looking at to many boats as the eyes are always open for the next one.

Looking for a good place to walk some docks and look at potential next option. We love our SRs but looking at the next step of life as live aboards. We currently spend in excess of 250 days per year on board. Admiral looking for more comfortable quarters with either AC or prefer full beam master. We had our 420AC for ten years and loved the boat. Moved to a 52DB and we took a loss in bow sleeping arrangements and storage layout.

We really wanted the 58DB but no Mann certified service within a reasonable travel time and concerns when the burp & bleed when they do that! Not ready to crawl but the ability to have it both ways is desirable as when I want to go I want to go!

If ya have some thoughts, time or recommendations as to where to go drop me a note by text 434 981-2212 or email GimmeTimeJohn@gmail.com and many thanks for your information & time!

Absolutely beautiful area we see around here. Currently staying in a nice home in the Kirkland area and willing to drive just about anywhere within an hour or two

John, if you can find your way down to the south end of Lake Union you'll find lots of boats to look at and docks to walk. Many are private and locked, but there are some right at the south end that are open, or used to be. Also some good restaurants down there.

If you're a member of a yacht club, find your way to Seattle Yacht Club and introduce yourself. Don't be put off by the blow boaters in the area. They some times don't cotton to us stink potters.

Also consider a walk along the waterfront. No boats to look at but lots of nautical shops to wander through. Also, if time allows take a ferry ride. You can walk on the ferries at the Colman docks and take a trip across the water and back.

We’re going to be spending 2 nights in Seattle in January to break up a long flight to Hawaii.
I’ve still got to book a hotel and was planning on looking in to one on the waterfront somewhere.
We don’t need to tour Marinas to look at boats, but it might be nice to spend an afternoon wandering through some nautical shops.

The locks are always good for boat viewing. Fisherman's terminal in Seattle and in Kirkland, you have Carollin Point Marina right there. Fisheries Supply is on Lake Union and you can get Noflex Digester for $18.00 instead of $32.00...
John, I have some time on Sunday afternoon if you'd like to go for a boat ride...?

Edgewater is good and if they're full try Seattle Marriott Waterfront. It's directly across the street from Belltown Marina.

+1 to Fisherman's Terminal, then hop across the water to Ivar's Salmon House. It's almost directly below the I-5 bridge on NE Northlake Way, and just a short distance from Fisheries Supply.

Guys, thanks for all the responses and if it works for Mark I’ll be spending some time with him Sunday and looking forward To meeting him.

We head South to KW Friday after Thanksgiving if the Chesapeake Bay allows us to do so. We run the ICW typicality to Beaufort and head outside from there again weather dependent.

Naw, I was just kidding. We're booked through the weekend but I appreciate the offer. We are planning on coming over for the Big Seattle Boat Show the first weekend. We have some free tickets and kids who live in the Seattle area so we have a freebie place to stay.

As the resident CSR Cheapskate I can get into a trip like this.

You'll like it. Look up "the Beatles at the Edgewater", they stayed there, and there's pics of them fishing from their room.
    They made it famous.

    I’ll do that!
We’ve never been to Seattle and we’re looking forward to it.
The flight from JFK to Honolulu is 11 1/2 hours which is more time than I want to spend on a plane so a few nights in Seattle is a good way to break it up.
The return flight from Honolulu to JFK is a 9 1/2 hour redeye which is more bearable.

Would like to give a quick shout out to Mark aboard “Bill Collector” for showing me his beautiful 500 Sun Dancer & boat house. BC twin 3126 Kitty Cats which purred nicely and ran just as smooth as a tuning fork. We compared notes and experiences with the engines as we had a pair ourself for ten years which as well never gave us any problems.

We had a very enjoyable cruise around some of the Tacoma & Gig Harbor areas of which I’d heard about but never seen before. Amy & I have been fortunate to see a tiny part of The beauty of the Tacoma & Seattle area and she’s ready to move here.

We shall return and maybe next time Mike from “GoFirstClass” will not only “wanna come wanna come” but actually make it as well.

Just one of the great benefits of owning a SR, being a member of CSR and traveling around you get occasionally the opportunity to put a face with the name & boat you’ve read about on this site.

Thanks again Mark and hope I can return the favor sometime when you’re on the East Coast in an area where we might be !

Hi John, it was a great afternoon and my pleasure to be out on the water with you. It could have been a little less cloudy so we could see Mt. Rainier, but the seas were calm and I had an opportunity to share a little slice of my heaven here in the PNW with you... Safe travels, Mark
