Ordered polyform fender holders from iBoats and the connectors were not included. Their ad shown below clearly states it includes all hardware and nylon connectors. When I called to complain, they said sorry connectors not included. Then they changed their ad! Dam connectors are $20 each and you need 4 of them. And I had to pay $37 to return them. What a rip, I’m out $57 total.
Should have bought from Amazon I guess.

No ...don't say Amazon. I boycott Amazon so I am a bit biased here. I buy almost everything off of ebay. There are a lot of marine supply places on there and ebay's return policies are very good and they will almost always take the buyer side if the product is misrepresented. I rarely have a problem on ebay.

No complaints with Amazon, great service, I have NEVER had a problem not fixed in my favor, will have a new thread on that soon...

I am curious if their mobile site was not properly updated as the website shows clearly the hardware is not included.

"The fender holders and two styles of connectors are sold separately, so you can custom configure your fender storage system without having to buy extra hardware you won't be using."

Not sure why the wording is different you saw in your post. It has the wording I posted word for word on Amazon as well.

I’m a big Amazon fan and buy lots of stuff off there. I even started buying toothpaste from them. But I’ve had one or two less than satisfying experiences with 3rd party sellers on there.
Most recently, I bought a suitcase that had great reviews. It arrived and it was a piece of junk. I returned it to the seller and had to pay a 10% return fee. It really pissed me off.
As much as I like the reviews on Amazon I’ve learned to be cautious about reading them because the third party sellers might be padding the reviews.
I’ve gotten screwed on EBay a few times too over the years but never from a retail type vendor. It was always from an individual. I’ve found EBay to be mostly useless in intervening on my behalf in those rare instances.
Now I try to stick with retail sellers and if I can identify them somehow I’ll usually opt to order directly from their website instead of from EBay if the pricing is the same.

Further investigation into this because I need them also is that they did not sell you the right kit.

Below clearly states what you needed.

Sometimes just walking into the store, seeing the product and having piece of mind is worth the extra dollars spent.

Just a thought Mike.

Agree, have no idea where I could see this product, or competing products for that matter, as it is not a commonly stocked item.

This is an area where the internet has helped boaters quite a lot. Now the cornucopia of products are just a click away. Back in the pre-internet days, where would a buyer find all the detail stuff we now buy for our boats? Or did it even exist? Have the convenience options for boating grown with the internet offering conveniences that were not available 30 years ago?

Was not boating back then, but presume if you wanted fender holders the options were limited and only at full retail dealers, and cheap trash was available mail order from a catalog with newsprint pages.

Glad to see you posing here a bit! Tell Janet hello...

They changed their ad the same day I brought it to their attention.

Thanks Mike.

We had an interesting experience last year in the spring. We needed new covers for our fenders as the old ones were pretty much toast. I remember reading a post a couple of years ago about covers actually. At your recommendation we started using them to help save the gelcoat.

We walked into the chandlery at our marina and they had 4. 2 at one price, 2 at a very much lower. We brought it up and they sold us all 4 at the lower price. We saved 40 bucks. All good from there!

Great to hear from you as well. Lots of life changes for us over the last 2 years and now things back to normal. You'll see me here more now!
