Have a question regarding NO shore power and cabin power.

Haha ok thanks man... I did talk to a local marine shop and they said a smaller generator I could be looking at a little over 5 installed... I do not know the specifics of the gen.

Ok, looked on my sea ray original brochure here: http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/company1729/1C1_27_74DERNL5Z581.pdf

And it appears my frig is both 12v and 110... so that is defintely good news.

True….however you have a boat with lots of years on it. A dual voltage refrigerator lasts about 10 years, give or take a few. Over the years lots of things on your boat have been changed since new. We will not know if this works until you try it.

Please tell us you got a survey before you purchased the boat.

I did not have a survey... He's a close friend of mine... spent a few days going over everything... showing me how everything worked... I drove it for a few hours... and We've been in touch every single day when I have questions etc.. and he also told me if for some reason when we put it in the water if there is an unforseen problems he will take care of it because he told me the boat was in tip top shape which is was.. he's even helping me handle putting the boat in the water, and hes going to take me out and show me the details all over again as well as tips on driving etc etc... so I did luck out in the fact that the seller has been in very close contact with me on a day to day basis for over a month now.. we should be dropping it in this week depending on weather... So I dont have any kind of shady feelings about anything, its not like this electrical situation is just MY Boat.. but is seeminly just the way it is.

Ill tell you whats weird though.. on my circuit board... underneath the main AC on switch at the top.. there is handwriting that goes like this...

DC <------ -------> AC

Since that is "hand written"....that to me was simply someone's personal little reminder that when flipped one way......you will have 110 volt a/c shore power and when flipped the other way you will not...and simply have the onboard 12 V battery power.

"He's a close friend of mine... spent a few days going over everything"

Since that's the case I'd suggest you get him back again to walk you through and explain everything to you again. Since he's owned the boat for.....however long......I think he is the best person to bring you up to speed on what everything is....and how and when things work.

Good luck.
