Having 2 issues

I have 2 issues today on my 2000 340 Sundancer

1. Outdrive up/down Gauge: The starboard side gauge, that shows that the outdrive trim up/down position, is stuck in the up position. I can hear the drive motor working when I push the switch that's located on the throttle. However, the starboard gauge does not move. I am wondering if it's an electrical/corrosion problem with the switch terminals on the gauge itself?

2. Port side engine toggle start switch: My engines have solenoid/toggle switches on the dashboard to start the engines. My Port engine toggle switch would not start the engine today when pushed (never had that issue previously). The engine did not crank at all. I did hear a "clicking" sound, but the engine did not crank. However, if I pushed the emergency start switch and then the port side toggle switch, the engine would start and run fine. After many attempts, I tried just holding the switch in the start position and I heard some "clicking" and then the engine started, as usual.
I turned it off and restarted it several times after that and it started, as usual.
I'm thinking it's possibly a battery issue (batteries are 3 years old) or corrosion on the terminals of the starter switch itself thus not allowing a viable connection?????

ANY thoughts, recommendations, suggestions for me to trouble shoot these issues will be appreciated

My guess on these would be the following:

1) Trim indicator switch on the outdrive would be my first inclination - as they sit in the water are subject to failure.
2) I would look at the battery, master solenoid, then starter. - If the battery was weak it may account for it working with the emergency start. This is the same for a possibly failing starter - I have seen starter act like the battery is failing because they are so bound up. Last and also a strong possibility is the master solenoid before the starter. Sometime you have to press the ignition many time (10+) and then it just starts and once it is freed up works normally until it sits.
