    Hello All,

I have a 1997 270 Sundancer and I am looking to find out if I can swap out the helm seat for a newer one that flips up. Does anyone have any advice or knows if that is even possible?

    thanks

It's definitely possible but it's dramatically more expensive than you might expect. You can spend a full boat buck ($1k) on just the Garelick pedestal. Maybe check out West Marine for a lower cost option. But I bet it's still spendy.

If you want to go cheaper just find go with a DIY "bolster" like many of us have done. I used a throwable life preserver for years and never had a problem.

I got a beautiful new SeaRay helm chair years ago from FP or Great Lakes Skipper... sorry I’m not sure which one but it bolted to my pedestal and it was under $400.

Also try Great Lakes Skipper. They deal with a lot of factory inventory close outs as well.

Are there any Boat bone yards you could get one from... when I was rebuilding cars... I would walk a junk yard for slight upgrades and such?

    Did you find one?
If not I have an almost new takeoff from my 2006 290. It is a very wide single seat with a bolster flip up. I'm in Albany NY

I think the shipping cost might be prohibitive though..seat
size is 30" high 18"deep 26" wide and 8" for the bolster on the front of seat. Weighs prob 35 lbs.
