Another soggy Saturday behind us.

Here is a picture from Grand Isle Marina this past Saturday. 5 years ago there was a 30" +/- drop between the sidewalk and the surface of the water. It was quite common to see dinghy's being parked/stored under the docks.

After a heavy rain Friday night the water was spilling over the sidewalk mid-day Saturday. Pretty wild...

Have the owners said anything about raising the driveways? Water is coming up through the storm drains from the river. Did the same thing in 1986 but they never dealt with it as the water retreated the following year.

Seems like it rains everyday here. Finally some sunshine today - but cloudy tomorrow and rain on Wednesday. This weather is insane.

I've heard that they are (EDIT allegedly :)) "working on it". They've thrown some gravel into the bigger holes toward the entrance but not much else so far.

I believe the plan (EDIT allegedly :)) is to teardown the building this coming winter so I am wondering if they'll try to make the parking lots live one more year and do it all at once.

That will be good. Place looks pretty bad in current condition. Which building will be torn down?

In the newsletter they sent out last week they said they already have a contractor in place this year to repair/replace asphalt as needed. I'm certain they're not raising the driveways though. Also, I'm on the Marina Advisory Committee and there's been no discussion at this point of tearing any buildings down this coming winter.

They will need to do something about the elevation of the drives. Paving over water logged substrate simply does not work.

Did you go to the association meeting 2 weeks ago +/-? I heard through the grapevine there was discussion about this coming winter being a target. Also discussion about potential tenants. Perhaps I misheard.

River crested a second time this week. Still no wake so these folks dont lose their second floor too.

We may be referring to two different meetings. I believe the association may be in reference to the Condo Association, and not the actual marina.
