Howdy Jim. I noticed your boat at Fourwinds last weekend. By your user name, looks like we'll have to spend a little time talking muscle cars as well as boats. Anyway, newbie here, I've been on Screamandfly and some other boat sites for 15 years. Always had trailer boats, looking for something else now. Mrs. SMS and I have been looking at lake lots thru-out the Midwest, and can't decide where we like best, so maybe a cruiser gives us lake living and the flexibility to lake hop a little. Sign me up I recon for your HIWC. Bill

Hey guys. I have a problem that maybe one of you has the answer to. My ignition was turning over the last few weeks slowly. I would turn it and have to hold it for a few seconds before it would turn over. I charged up the batteries to full strength and this last weekend I went to start it and I just heard a click each time I turned it. It doesn't crank over. Is this a starter problem? It is a single 260 Merc 5.7 liter. I will be taking a new more powerful charger down this weekend to try it out. Our Marina has been flooded so we have no shore power and I have been using a portable generator for a month now. Any info would be most helpful. Thanks guys!!!

Welcome! Your problem may not be the battery, it is likely the slave solenoid sticking. It should be located near the front of the engine, likely below the point where the wiring harness plugs into the engine receiver. They aren't costly to replace, or just may need the terminals cleaned. Good Luck, and She's a looker!

Agree with the above...

All is going great up here, just not enough free time lately.
Our 2015 list is shorter than the past few years:
1. Upgraded Trim Tab Planes - 18 x 24's
2. New Ritchie Compass
3. New Batteries (3), replaced as one went bad after 8 years of service
4. Annual cleaner and wax

We did add another small hole though with our 130 SS Whaler and it's upgrades:
1. RayMarine Dragonfly 5 with WiFish
2. Compass
3. Switches
4. Bilge Pump
5. A pair of Attwood Centric seats
6. Yeti cooler tie-down kit
7. Also built a removable downrigger plank for occasional deep water fishing in our Bay

It's time to get out and enjoy the water. :smt038
