And that was the funniest post ive made all week.

A recent acquisition of the odd little Sedan Bridge from 88-89 the 305. It's a little odd and rare to see so, it's a boat that is a lot like me. Fixing stuff and planning more, buying parts from every shore. Wondering how to pay for it all and basically having a ball. Need to get to know others with this rare gem of a boat. The Hole in The Water Club seems like a good place to search.

Warmest Regards to All

Greetings All,

My name is Eric, and I have a problem. I recently purchased an '85 270 Sundancer. Since that day I spend my days reading forum posts, searching for parts and tinkering on my Hole in the Water.

My list of 'things to do' grows daily. This is going to be one heck of an off season for me...Starting with a complete de-stripe and removal of the old name. A new head, full drive servicing, updating cockpit electrical are next... followed by some upgrades (I hope). Luckily, my first mate is just as addicted as I am.

Morning Eric, welcome aboard! I have the same affliction - 87 270 Amberjack - now stripped down to the bare hull. Repowering with outboards "ah la Venture" twin 175 Zukes, paint, Panel & alot more. Rot repair with "Space Tech" (Coosa board like) - etc etc. Hope to splash before the end of the year. Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome Aboard Eh!

We have the same boat and model year but with twin 3.8's (185's). The earlier part of a transition year for powerplants.
Browsing you have probably seen much of the work and upgrades I did on ours.
There are many ideas out there to tailor it to your needs, good luck and welcome to the club!

20160725_180408 - Copy.jpgHello...we went for a quick ride on this boat this past weekend. and we are going to be buying it next weekend. The only information we were given though is that it is a 79 28 foot sea ray. Could anyone here be able to identify it better than that? and do i call it a sedan bridge since it is a hard top? I texted the seller to send me the Hull number....hopefully he will send it to us soon and shed a little bit of light on the subject. also...would anyone consider this size vessel sea worthy to go out fishing off of the texas coast around port oconnor?

What engines are in that boat JeffreyC?

it is a mercury...but unsure of what size

I too have a problem. I recently had to have two diesel engines rebuilt by Cat. Cost was 50% of what I paid for the boat, and yet I still think of it as good value. I've also replaced stereos, installed a TV in cockpit, extended camper-style top, changed boot stripes, deep buffing, new mattress, primed painted and polished anything I could get my hands on (plus the wife doesn't like gold trim).

I am however glad to hear that there is a group of like minded individuals with the same disease.

ok...i received the HULL ID number...but where do I go to find the most information about it....? i put it in one site but didn't get much info.SER4061A1078 is the number
