Hot Docks & ESD - Electric Shock Drowning

Our marina is making a bigger deal about ESD this year. Its in our spring newsletter, and they are posting new "No swimming" signs as well. Not that very many people ever swam in the marina. Its pretty fertile water with weeds, turtles, etc. And there is a heated swimming pool.

I brought it up to the harbormaster and he didn't have much interest in discussing it. We had been swimming off the back of the boat for years. Other kids would even come over to splash around and hangout. When I heard about ESD on CSR I told the kids and stopped the swimming. I didn't like the way one dude was hanging around my granddaughter anyway so I got rid of him at the same time.:p

They do make monitors you just threw in the water that tells you there is voltage in the water. Water voltage protectors 42500 sold at home depot and amazon for $149.00 .

Is this what RollerC meant by a "floating alarm"?
