How come signatures sometimes don't show?

When signatures are missing, they are missing for everyone in the posting so I am not sure an attachment is the problem.

I think it kills all the signatures in the post. This post was a good example of it. Before I attached the pictures signatures where there. After i attached the pictures all signatures are gone :huh:

Since both of us can verify that our signatures are there, you do the honors and attach a picture to the next posting and we'll see if they disappear. If you are right, I understand Wesley will be giving you a free Magic Eraser. :grin:

Hey Jim, not sure if it will help, but just found an interesting item in the Best of the West post about linking pictures to web sites. When the pictures are attached the way he is doing it. The signatures works. When a picture is attached via the add attachment all signatures disappear. PS I delete the post I did with the attached picture so all the signature would work.

The pictures I posted in Best in the West are not attachments, they are in-line references to off site images. Ken was the one that I first noticed doing it.

However, there is a 'gotcha'. The picture must already exist on the web, you can't add it at the same time via the post you are making. In my case, that was not an issue because I kept crashing against the 2 MB limit anyway.

To get around this, someone could make a very short post with attachments in the holding tank, find out the web reference for that photo, and then add it in line in a normal post. But that is pretty clumsy.

So it looks right now like you get a sig line attachment or a photo attachment, but not both, and it applies to the whole page.
