How to wire a raw water washdown pump on '94 270DA?

GG, I would look at a GC-3 battery. That is roughly a 200 amp-hr battery. You can probably get a flooded cell battery like that from Gould or Exide. Maybe Gould has changed its name, now that I think of it. Don't recall the new name.

For more money you can get about the same thing in an AGM battery, say Trojan. There are other manufacturers for these too.

You want to get a battery that is specified for it amp-hr capacity, such as the 5 hr or 20 hr current capacity. That indicates it is designed to provide current over time. If the battery has CCA or CA specified, that means it is designed as a start battery, which is not what you are looking for.

If I were you, I would shop around Sacramento for battery stores, then see what they offer, for what price, in a GC-3 or whatever you choose.

These are my opinions. I'm sure others have other opinions!

Thanks Dave! I copied and saved your recommendation. When it comes time to replace my batteries (next winter?) I'll have a look at a local battery supply warehouse (Battery Bill) and see what they have in stock.
