We pushed hard through a rough inflow (3-4') last weekend and had some gear get wet in the bow. It appeared to be coming in behind the rub rail. From the outside, it is apparent the joint is separating. Going to pull the rub rail and reseal it. After cleaning it all up, is a urethane adhesive like Dow U-418 a good choice or is there better choices? In a smallish town and supplies are limited but don't want to deal with a mess gone wrong.

Tiara used 5200 when our boat was built.

I had to retrofit an underwater fixed trim tab fence to the hull of our boat. Sabre sent me the part but not the adhesive and hardware. The adhesive they wanted used is Plexus MA310, a specialty industrial grade adhesive. They told me it is what they use for joining the hardtops to the deck structure and for the deck to hull seam and preferable to retail/big box products like 5200? It’s apparently a commonly used as I got it from a local industrial supplier.

I had to pull the rail and seal the joint on my 270 AJ as it was coming apart. I posted a write up.

The hull to deck joint is one of the rare truly appropriate uses of 3M 5200. It’s what I used.

Thanks for the input guys. Looked into the Plexus 310. Could not find a distributor in the north. Going to remove the rub rail and get a better look at what I am dealing with this afternoon. 5200 might be the best option for me.
