One of my two hull zinc connections broke off. It’s factory original with a bolt. Someone previous replaced the other side with a threaded rod. As you can see I recently replaced that connection. My easiest solution is to just connect the broken wire to the threaded rod. So both wires would be on the same connection. Any reason that’s not a good idea? It’s all one big common ground circuit.

Can't tell from the pic but is the threaded rod on the right stainless? They should be bronze and I don't think it matters whether you're tied to one side or the other. My concern would be breaking the sealant while tightening up the nut if the boat is in the water.

Thanks. Yup, threaded rod is stainless. So is the factory bolt on the left. That’s been working just fine for 20 years.

May want to double check that. The reason the one on the left is green is because it's bronze.
I’ll double check. Sure looks like ss on the outside. It definitely has ss nuts and washers on the water side. And an ss washer on the inside. All the green you see is on and from the ring connector. Not the bolt head.

I ended up crawling back in there (gouging up my chest pretty nicely) and connecting the broken wire to the other post. One day I’ll replace the bolt with another threaded rod and move it back over. But for now, this is it.
