I recently bought a 1999 Express Cruiser. It came on a 1999 Eagle trailer. I believe it would be better for me to buy a NEW trailer rather than fix the many issues with to current trailer. How do I get the right shape trailer; correct roller system, etc.? And where is the best place to buy a new trailer? I am in the Dallas, TX market area but can travel.

Thanks,

I'll share my experience, hope it's helpful. I had my double axle trailer for my 26ft 6000lb Sundancer rebuilt by a local trailer shop (all but the frame, main bunks, and fenders replaced), cost around $3k including the labor, a new one would have cost $5-6k with brakes, which is required in FL for my total weight. Without brakes saves about $400. I don't know of companies in Dallas, but expect there are Magic Tilt and Continental dealers nearby, IMO Magic tilt are a better value. Those companies likely have measurements on file to match your boat, if not they'll adjust the trailer to your boat at a local dock, usually for free or $100.

Personally, I prefer bunks vs rollers, I launch by myself on steep ramps and find bunks work well for me.

Good luck!

Thank You! Your experience and the level of detail you shared is very helpful. I too will usually launch by myself, so the insight on bunks is most helpful, unless I can find the same make and model; I will probably refurbish.
Thanks again :)
