If you like construction, check this out!

Nice, now stand by the traffic light holding up a CSR sign.

I love those huge projects where every conceivable type of machine is used for something. I'm a small residential contractor, but always love the big projects. The engineering is unbelievable.

It is pretty cool to see some of the technology being used. We are the first building in the US to use Viscus Wall Dampers for seismic control. Pretty cool stuff that has been used in Japan fo many years.

Never felt it. Too small to bother I guess. It hit as I got off of the BART train...

It shook here for about a second. I was watching the news felt it before the delay and they felt it. Those vids are pretty cool. I watched a few. Saw one where they were coring to install beams. We had to do something similar. 18" hole 14' deep and filled with concrete to stabilize a house on on a hill. Was not fun at all.

I still think the engineering behind imploding is far cooler, cost efficient and faster. But on the other hand this way is much better for the working man.

Try obtaining a permit in San Francisco to implode a building! EVERYTHING is so much more difficult to get approved here. It makes things go way too slow...

Yea they don't do it to much anymore here in nyc either. Actually cove to think of it all they do now is induce a gas leak and wait for somebody to turn the lights on and boom building goes bye-bye and the insurance check comes in. :smt101

We have a plane fly over and take photos every month. Check out a few shots that focus on the view! The high resolution shots are much better than these.
