Any recommendations for service for a 35 Sundancer with inboard engines and sterndrives in the Tampa, St. Petersburg area - other than MarineMax?

I'm sure some others in the area will recommend some places. In the meantime, you could go onto Merc's website and locate a dealer. You only need to find a Mercruiser certified dealer - it doesn't have to be a Sea Ray dealer.

FYI, you can just say "stern drive" - adding the word "inboard" may sometimes be confusing (depending on context) since that typically dictates a different setup. Saying stern drive automatically means the engine is on the inside.

I posted my request to have someone with local knowledge reply. Doing a website of Mercuiser repair in Tampa Bay/St Petersburg will produce a list that is not all that helpful to me. To service my boat, it has to be a yard that can haul out a 35-foot boat. There are many shops here that do not have a traveling lift to do so. Then out of the few who can, some only do diesel, Volvo Penta, and then I am shooting blind. The people that I spoke to hear are telling me that MarineMax is the only choice that can haul the boat out for maintenance. I am asking if anyone has any experience with a yard that can haul out and service my boat other than MarineMax.

I thought it might be helpful, while you waited for local knowledge (like I noted), to point you towards that Merc resource in case you didn't already know about. Certainly, a phone call or two to some places that looked promising (or checking websites) may be able to get you some info, as well.

FYI, you weren't clear about WHAT kind of service you needed. Many maintenance items can be done while still in the water.
