Installing LED TV on 2004 340 Sundancer Bulkhead Wall

I had to bring this back and ask a question. Kevin, the tv looks great. My question it to AARONGRZ.. Can you tell me how far out from the wall the TV comes? The bracket you used is 1" thick and the TV has to be at least 2" thick. How does your breaker door open? I can't see any possible way this will work for me, and I measured 5 times. Any more info would be great. Thanks

I can't get into the building where my boat is stored until the stay at home is lifted. The breaker door is not a problem. I installed the TV 2 years ago. I can't remember the exact measurements. As soon as I can get to my boat I will post more pics. I found one more on my phone.

Thanks. When you can get access that would be great. Do you remember the exact mount/part number you used?

Thanks. Do you remember how thick your TV was? Aprox? Also when you can get in the boat, can you measure the distance from the TV to the wall near the breaker panel and the total thickness at that point. Thank you in advance..

I think the TV depth was 2.4 inches. The TV is slightly offset to the right. The door at its closest point is about 1 1/2 inches from the TV.

I wish I could get to my boat right now. Launch date was originally 04/01.

Thanks. I hear ya..I planned on going in early at a private marina. I was thinking about it all winter going in April 18th until my marina opens May 9th. I don't think that's happening. I have in my head, I'll be happy with July and Aug season this year.

Kevin,
Thanks for your post. It helped me a lot. I installed a 43" Samsung and a KVH satellite. I know the pic isn't great. I will get better ones this weekend if anyone wants to see more. View attachment 58763
Kevin, I cannot figure out how my salon bulkhead TV is removed? Is there a trick to get the existing 2007 TV off of the bulkhead?

Aaron , I bought the mount you listed. 2 things. #1, The mount has no locking screws to hold the brackets tight to the wall mounting bracket. #2 There is no way I can fit that TV on my bulkhead. I put the bracket against the wall and used a 2x4 as the TV, and that is only 1.5" thick. NO way I can fit a 38" wide TV on there without the door hitting! Your boat must be different then mine. I don't know, I install everything myself and I can't see how this will work. Maybe send some more detailed pictures with measurements, but as of now I have to give up I guess.

mnm99, I am coming to the same conclusion. Bought a 43” Samsung that is 38” wide. Looks like I may have to return it and get a slightly smaller tv. Stinks because I love Samsung TVs.

I bought the mount he listed and there was no way to secure the tv from sliding left and right, very flimsy. The only route I think we can go if we want a 43" is with one of those picture frame tv's Way too much money though.
38.1" x 21.9" x 1.8"

mnm99, Just picked up the 43" Frame from Best Buy for $799. Wish you had never showed me that thing lol. Installing tomorrow if it ever stops raining in southern OH/IN. Will take plenty of pics and hopefully some GoPro video during the install.

I'm very interested in seeing how this works out as well. I was considering putting one of those Frame TVs in my boat. The price has held me back so far but they must be coming down. Seems like a great option for that space.

The new TV is up, will update with a detailed install story asap(Long Story). Scrambling for the holiday weekend. There is an external box for these frame TVs that I am not sure where it will live but it will not be a problem. Plenty of space. You can see the cord going to the right in the first pic. We have a 75" at home and this one feels like an extension. I did make my own template and letting Samsung know they should include in every box.

home.

Hi, Very nice, but how and where did you run your power and cables be it coax or HDMI?

See, That fits..Just cost 3x the money..lol. So ho much room do you have when you open the door from the tv. It looks like it just misses. I still would like to see more details on how Aaron fit his. Anyway, yea where did you cut the hole in the back and what mounts it? come on more details...lol. I love the look by the way. It looks awesome. My next winter project.

Are you guys streaming directly to those TV's or how are you getting streaming video?

I'm working from marina wifi, but also works on my phone hot spot.
