When searching on here, or even google, for 3116/3126 things there are so many threads with great info on here. Is there an official thread for this on here? If not should we create one?

Frank Webster is the cat expert on this site. I was looking at a 41 dancer with cat’s. I read all his posts on the block issues. A wealth of information

Oh I've done the same thing on here as well as boat diesel. Thought it would be nice to have an official thread since there are so many other official threads for specific models, etc.

There are so many questions about those motors it would be a good idea if they had their own thread. SN, Go ahead and start it. It will come in handy to a lot of people. Well on 2nd thought & Not to get out front of my skies, ask one of the Technical Contributors if its ok? JC

You don't have to ask if you can start an "Official" thread... just start it!

I have never been a fan of those "Official XXX threads because there is no good way to police the accuracy of what is posted without stepping on some toes either by correcting someone's posting or by asking them to stop reposting copyrighted data. Those of you who know me know that I am a stickler for posting complete and correct information for the more inexperienced folks here to follow. Here are some suggestions:

1. Be sure any service, repair or maintenance suggestions or procedures you post are those recommended by Caterpillar.

2. Do not post copyrighted information as your work product unless you own the copyright. This covers most of the information contained in the tutorials section. Just refer readers to the tutorials instead of copying and pasting tutorials.

3. Please do not post the work product of other members. They can post it themselves if they choose to.

3. Please be sure you know what you are talking about before hitting enter.
