My new detailer is proposing to use Jetseal sealant as a finish product, instead of traditional wax. I've used Reject sealant last year and was not happy.

Does anyone have experience with Jetseal?

I did a search and I found that people claim it only last a couple months. I think Jetseal is a little better thanReject but If it where me I would go with a ceramic coating instead. The initial cost is A Lot more but it lasts years (3-4 years if applied correctly and maintained correctly) instead of months. I have had a ll my vehicles ceramic coated and our 44 and it is amazing. Dirt fall right off, in fact after a heavy rain it looks like you just washed it.

Rejex is pretty good stuff and should have held up well if the surface was properly polished and wiped down to remove polish residue before it was applied.

If you didn’t like Rejex you probably wouldn’t be happy with a different brand sealant.

Sealants last longer than Carnauba wax. But while they shine, it isn’t the deep warm finish that you get with Carnauba.

For the best of both worlds you can protect the prepped surface with a sealant so you get the longevity, then come back a day later after its set up and apply a layer of Carnauba to get that warmer looking finish.

You can’t do it the other way though. Sealants will not bond to Carnauba.

FWIW: I skip the sealant and put a few layers of Carnauba instead. I use boat soap that has Carnauba in it and wash the boat topsides and whatever I can get to below the rub rails while in the water, at least once a week all season to boost the Carnauba.
Areas that are accessible, especially ones that get direct sunlight, get re-waxed a few times during the season.

I can't help but post on this thread. It seems every couple of months someone comes up with a "new" idea they swear is the best stuff ever and will replace compound and wax. I take care of 9 boats... I have yet to have it proven to me in real life any sealant is better then wax. Here's the deal, they may last longer (slightly, months not years) but they won't shine as much, cost more to purchase and apply and will fade away into the sunset when the new M"model" shows up on shelves.

Wax just looks great, In Texas where it's super hot and sunny we can make it 6 months and keep a shine and protect the gelcoat. To each his own, but I'll take the challenge... find me a shiner boat then mine with the newest product and prove to me how much better it is.

Rejex has been around awhile, around here the detailers like it because it's faster removal... owner's don't know it but it saves the detailer time so that's why they push it

Cheaper, Faster, Better... As they say pick any 2
